I figured i would overexpose it to give it a dreamy effect. I am not sure how it would look to an outsider. critiques welcome.

sandra, i love it because it really makes her eyes stand out.

I like it. very sweet. nice job; it's different, but it "grabs" me.

Nice view, good idea.
I little corrected it: sharpened and cleaned stains.

Hey Sandra,

Good effort, nice portrait and her expression is priceless. If I were you, I would take a properly exposed shot and give it the 'dreamy' effect in post as you have more control over tonality and colors. If you decided you wanted a bit more skin tone or something, it would be impossible because what you take is what you get. If you take another one properly exposed shot like this, I will not mind doing a workshop for you. This portrait you setup has potential to be something really beautiful.

I love this effect, Sandra! The baby's eyes really pop in this photo. How did you deliberately overexpose it? I still haven't figured out how to manually adjust my camera, so all my pics are auto focus.

Great post!

This is a very nice picture to an outsider. It showes the love of a mother towards her child. It is hard to tell on the picture if it is the mother or the big sister. In any cases, love is present.

Sandra, this is a good idea. I like the way you achieved the dreamy effect. There are other ways too. Shoot at normal exposure, and there's a great place that has "dreamy" free plug-ins at www.optikvervelabs.com
I like the closeness and emotion in your photo. Very nicely done.

Sandra, this is beautiful, and I love how you have made it so overexposed. What an excellent result.
