A Column of Fire

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The vertical dynamic of this view is what caught my eye last night as I was enjoying this village's first major fireworks display since its centennial festivities seven years ago.
The event last night was a milestone of another sort, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the local grocery -- here in Wisconsin, we don't need a lot of excuse to get the community together and have fun :)
Technically, in addition to the details below, I shot in RAW on Manual/Bulb from the tripod and also used the Rebel's built-in noise reduction for the bulb setting.
I tried several shorter exposures, too, and even experimented with a few shots on the sports setting during the finale. (One of those, a half-second exposure, came out surprisingly well -- perhaps a post for another day). |

Hi Jim,
You make me laugh with this comment "here in Wisconsin, we don't need a lot of excuse to get the community together and have fun"! This is a really a good philosophy of life and the characteristic of small communauties where all people know his neighbors and are always ready to help each other and to have pleasure together!
About this photo, you make honor at Wisconsin (especially at the Wrightstown peoples) with this magnificent capture of the firework! Great splash of colors with a great clarity and sharpness. Very well done!
