For Friday theme "Looking Down" - 24-07-2008

I like the fog
It's soft and cool,
It hides everything
On the way to school.
I can't see a house
I can't see a tree,
Because the fog
Is playing with me.
The sun comes out
The fog goes away,
But it shall be back
Another day.


this shot has been taken above the Jim Corbett ranges of forests. its in Uttranchal, now "Uttrakhand". me and my friends had a good time roaming in the forest to capture something wild. and here comes this fog.

Hello Manuj,

The fog hasn't prevented you from capturing a very atmospheric shot! The wetness surrounds the man as he tramps along, stoically.
The pov is well chosen with the wide path drawing the eye into the shot. Then a lot of searching occurs as the eyes try to distiguish blurry shapes!

This surprises me. Usually placing the subject in the centre of a photograph is a bad technique. However I think in this case it works; something about the surroundings makes it ok.

Good subdued light and saturation in the foggy surroundings.

A nice soft effect cause by the fog Manuj. Very well composed with good colour and detail. I wondered where all the fog from here had gone, North of the equator, by the looks of things.

hello Manuj,
I missed this one yesterday and glad to find it now. It's a well composed atmospheric shot. The man with the umbrella is well placed in the frame. The mist must have been heavy enough to feel like rain. Co-incidentally, we set off yesterday to climb a hill in Scotland but the mist higher up was so heavy that it felt like a fine rain. The rocks higher up were so slippy that we had to give up and turn back. I missed a shot of some ravens, which was a pity.

So realistic scene,The man in the middle of frame had clearly capture for the title,love the curve road that lead to nowhere by fog,sharpness on the man and good tone in this scene too.Good work,TFS.

Hi Manuj,
Very good foggy image! This scene could leave of a psychological thriller where the man, after a gasoline breakdown, is alone in the fog surrounded by several invisible enemies. The tension in the air would be enhanced by a haunting music... LOL
I like when an image excite my imagination, This is the case, here!

This is SO moody!! Really nice low light work here Manuj! Good posting for the theme! I love the curve of the road, good control of light as often the glare is a pain on foggy days! Nice work!

Hi Manuj. Lovely 'soft' shot. If anything, I feel the man is a little too central in the image but the wagon seems to balance the right side out a bit. Excellent use of the conditions to get this subdued shot. Regards, Paul.
