[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Although it isn't immediately obvious, this is a picture of the famous Texas bluebonnet wildflowers. Unfortunately after a banner year last year, the crop this year was horrendous-- and THEN we got a major hail storm. The flowers were so beat-up, but I went ahead and shot some images anyway, with a black & white conversion in mind all the while. All in all, I think it turned out nicely.

Anyway, these are my girls, the ones that make it all worth it. They're pretty darn cute if you ask me, but what would I know? I'm just their dad. :)

by the way welcome to TL;)

Hi Robert,

Although I am a big fan of black and white photos, I think I would prefer to see this one in color. Just for the coloring of their dresses, hair, peaches and cream skin, rosy lips, and of course the blue flowers mixed with green. They are cute though.... all sugar and spice! :D

Hi Robert! Welcome to TL! I'm an old Texas gal and yes the crop was barely worth getting out for this year! I like this pic, the comp is fabulous! The processing could have been leveled a bit more. There is alot of OE on their arms and faces. That's a minor fix in the future by shooting a higher F-stop, 5.6 is too low for 1/500. Are you shooting auto or manual? IF you stick around here long enough you will learn so much. Manual is best and more flexible. I would have put the F-stop here at anywhere between 7.1 and 11. LOVE the vignetting you added! Excellent post! They are adorable! Hey, I'm in Houston!

Hi Robert,
Welcome on TL!
I like the classic way you made this beautiful portrait of your girls. Excellent point of view and pose. The B&W is a good choice, here, enhancing the timeless of the mood! With an old photo treatment, this one could be a portrait of your grandmother and her sister!
The WS of Linda is well done to correct the minor overexposition. Bravo and have a great time on the site!
