Photo taken, on the day of my birthday, on a tour of the marginal Porto, near the Fort of S. Francisco Xavier do Cheese, better known as the Cheese Castle.
In ruins in the middle of the seventeenth century, served as foundation for this small sea fort, built at the expense of the Municipal Council of Porto during the War of Restoration of Portuguese Independence.
We do not know for sure the year in which it was founded Castle of S. Francisco Xavier do Cheese, is presumed to have been the years of 1661 or 1662.
At the beginning of the eighteenth century, however, in 1717, the Board of Porto claimed its deactivation to D. João V (1706-1750), proving that the castle called the Cheese was useless and unnecessary and only served to make a large expenditure of the Safe City.
Now restored and in perfect condition, is under the custody of the Association of commands (North's delegation) that there remains a military-history museum and a schedule of cultural events and entertainment, open to the general public.

Bom POV. Adoro o pormenor das flores amarelas no canto inferior direito. Pena que o céu não estivesse mais azul, mas ainda assim está excelente. Parabéns.

Hello Ricardo
This is a nice simple sand dune. I like the way the grass is growing right out of the sand. A blue sky would have brightened up your image...we can't always have every thing. Still a nice image.
