Sheep River Falls
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hi Folks , this is a shot of the sheep river falls found in the sheep river valley provincial park , being a mountain river the water is the clearest that one can find , well in these here parts :-)
this photo was one that could not be taken correctly , I could either over expose the sky to get a view of the valley or expose for the sky and leave the valley dark. I chose the later. the rest I dealt with in software.
I opened the image in photoshop elements 6 , the created a copy layer , selected the upper layer and reduced the opacity to 0% , then selected the lower layer and applied 'shadows/highlights' to brighten the tree's and shoreline , I just ignored the sky letting it become over bright , once satisfied by the color and brightness of the tree area , I returned the opacity of the upper layer to 100% , then used a feathered edged eraser tool to erase the areas of the trees , shore line and the large rock in the front of the image from the upper layer , other than the few trees above the horizon it was quite easy , when finished I flattened the image and saved.
thanks for stopping in
regards
