Place du Forum, Metz

This place is located in the Centre Saint-Jacques, a mall in the very center of Metz. In 1990 a glass structure had been constructed in the middle of the place. The prism like shape is intended to bring the natural light to the underground levels.
I tried to catch the contrast between the glass structure designed to bring the sky to the underground levels and the dark surrounding building. The encounter point of these three actors is diametrically opposed to a monitoring camera in respect to the image center. The glass structure lets the liberty filter to the underground levels but these ones are well supervised.

Cette place est située au centre Saint-Jacques, un centre commercial au coeur de Metz. En 1990 une verrière a été érigée en plein mileu de la place. Construite en forme de prisme, cette structure doit amener la lumière vers les niveaux inférieurs du centre.
J'ai essayé de saisir le contraste entre la structure en verre, du ciel qu'elle est sensée enfouir et du bâtiment environant très opaque. Le point de rencontre des trois est diamétralement opposé à une caméra de surveillance par rapport au centre de l'image. Elle amène l'idée de liberté au sous-sol où l'on s'enferme et pourtant ce sous-sol est bien surveillé.

I found the geometric angles and lines interesting, Fred. Good pov and dof and I like the simple b/w treatment. TFS.
