D'un coup tranchant de l'ongle du pouce la femme exercée écarte la rangée d'épines et coupe la feuille en fibres qui seront traitées, suivant l'usage prévu, par le soleil ou l'eau de mer...

Hidden kindness

At the edge of the beaches of the Pacific, it grows, and those which know it in make clothing, piece of furniture, roof and daily decoration. From a sharp blow of the nail of the inch the exerted woman draws aside the line of spines and cut the sheet out of fibers which will be treated, according to the use envisaged, by the sun or sea water…
