[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We visited a small hill named Lamb's Rock near Coonoor that affords a beautiful panoramic view of the valley. These monkeys were busy filching food from tourists. They seemed to be conversing on some simian affair when I took this photograph.

Cropped and resized. Contrast pushed up a bit.

ABOUT THE LOCALITY
Coonoor with an approximate altitude of 1500 meters above sea level is the second largest town in the district of The Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu and enjoys a pleasant weather all year round. The British built the first bungalow in Coonoor followed by tea estate and railways lines after its discovery in 1819. With a population of around 70,000 people and covering an area of 15.05sq km, Coonoor is a perfect holiday destination, or even one of the best places to settle down.
Coonoor boasts of its panoramic view of the lush green Nilgiri hills, with its ravines valleys and waterfalls. With its picturesque hill resort, Coonoor attracts lots of tourist through out the year and retired personal who want to settle down. Coonoor is crowded with tourist especially in summers, where you have people from around Coimbatore, Mettupalayam, Chennai, Bangalore and other near by places flooding Coonoor due to the hot weather conditions in these places. Bird watching is the popular pastime with a large variety of rare birds. Besides nature’s best view, you can also enjoy trekking, hiking, cycling and other adventure sports in Coonoor.
