Esplanade
The Esplanade is the centrepiece of the great Promenade de l’Esplanade that leads from the river through the old town of Metz. This area is home to some of the best kept formal gardens and flowerbeds in any town in France. Not a leaf is out of place on this symmetrical floral walkway. At the end of the Esplanade is a large statue of local hero and friend of the town Marshall Ney which was erected in 1859 as a tribute to the man visible on the satellite image link above as well as this tree located at the left of the statue. |
