Lazdijai is a 5 thousand town in Lithuania located about 7km East of the border with Poland. It became important when in 1990 Lithuania declared independence from the Soviet Union. Lazdijai became a center that oversees villages nearby. Now, when the borders in the EU are the past, it become a slow and sleepy town in the western part of country, so not too many tourists stop here for the cup of coffee. Vilnius is only 150 km away...
