[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Orphan girl who lives at a casa in Baja, Mexico. The girl had been picked on by some of the other kids and had been crying. If you look closely at her cheeks you can see where the tears cleaned streaks down her face that was dirty from playing.
The shoes in the shot were a gift and she didn't want to wear them because they'd get dirty. I went back a month later with a copy of this photo for her and she was still carrying around those shoes.

This was shot with a Hasselblad 500CM, 150mm lens. Exposure info was not recorded. I printed it with a ground out neg carrier to show the edges of the neg.

Besides the wonderful image you posted, is beautiful and heart breaking, knowing the story behind it. The face of this girl reflects sadness and the harshness of being an orphan. I liked your introduction and I thank you for bringing our feet down to the ground.

Hi Kevin , what an attention getter this presentation is , the image and your notes lead me to also viewing your profile page , it takes great heart to do the work that you speak of and display here , I do not really feel able to offer a proper critique of your photo , as I have very little knowledge of portrait type photography :-( , it is a very heart touching image. thank you for sharing it.

I hope this little girls life is graced by more angels.
