I took this photo at Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, PA., USA. I believe it is Agave parryi, an evergreen succulent, native to New Mexico.
Taken hand-held, auto exposure and auto focus... sunny day.
As I looked at this plant with it's overlaping, barb-tipped leaves, I was reminded of how often we remain closed up, withdrawn into a comfortable, protective exterior, and fail to allow ourselves to grow with others. |
