[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
alcobaca is a town in west-central Portugal. It lies at the confluence of the Alcoa and Baça rivers, just south-southwest of the city of Leiria. Alcobaça is notable for its Cistercian monastery (Mosteiro de Santa Maria), founded in 1152 by King Afonso I in thanksgiving for the reconquest of Santarém from the Moors and rebuilt in the 13th century. During the Middle Ages the monastery rivaled the greatest European abbeys in size and wealth. It contains the superbly carved tombs of Peter I (reigned 1357–67) and his mistress, Inês de Castro (murdered 1355). The vast, austere abbey is early Gothic, with Baroque and later additions. Portions of the monastery’s library are preserved in the public libraries of Lisbon and Braga.

I used to play 'Ave Maria' on the piano when I was at school - but reading this score it looks a different tune. Bach Gounod are the names I seem to remember.
I like how the lighting here seems to brighten different areas of the church Anna, especially the 'gold' bits, and the corner in the BG

era tocada. Saudades dos tempos de colégio.

Superb POV and an excelent composition. The music guideline against the mystic yellow light works in a fantastic atmosphere made of silent simphony and hymns of those stone and gold prayers.

An interesting shot with the partiture if the foreground. The light is an interesting and difficult to cope with combination od daylight and artificial lighting.
