I was wandering around with my new camera, getting the feel of it and trying different subjects. These are hips on the rose, 'Rosa Mundi'. I used the automatic settings and zoomed in, practising holding the camera as steadily as I could. No cropping or other work, just re-sized.
Having just taken a look at it in the gallery I see that I re-sized it too small and it has lost its clarity; the full sized pic is much clearer. I might try to repost it tomorrow. |

Great attempt at a neglected but interesting subject. We take pictures of roses but neglect the hip which can be beautiful. I did a workshop to improve it so please see it. I hope you like it.
The narrow depth of field really makes the rosehips stand out well against the background.
A little over exposed on the hips themselves - but nothing that practice with the new camera won't sort out..
