Hello again,

This one was taken six minutes later than yesterday's shot at the Mange-Grenouille Inn . The sun was already weaker.

While Martine was attempting to read, I kept turning around her to capture a few shots. But she was very patient with me, and kept smiling ( like fellow guests around watching the scene).

I must say I am trying to make these moments fun. Instead of being a distracting fly or mosquitoe (^_^), I try to be a love bug (*_^). While I turn around her ; I just say a quick phrase , make a smile , get her a hint, bring back a souvenir, a running gag, to get a smile or reaction from her that I capture.

Again, we were having an apperitif before dinner. Actually she was sitting in a chair similar to the ones you saw here .

Technically: ISO 100 Focal 23 MM.
Image uncropped Slight level and gamma correction. Resized, sharpened and framed.
I took away one glass of wine (mine), which we could see partly at the far right.
Composition; A more convential one, I propose it that way ,to actually show her location, as she was sitting in front of our room. Cloning or not the pole, I decided finally to keep it .

Have a great day everybody,
Robert

Hi Robert.
Another nice portrait of this pretty woman. Great light and colours, excellent sharpness. I think that a glass with a drink is a nice touch here.

Hi Robert
Perfect title I must say. Been there and done that and gotten the same reaction eventually. All the technical stuff is perfect. I agree on the post, not a distraction but an addition to the surroundings.

Hi Robert,

The sequal! Nice of you to give back her wine!! ;) It's a nice portrait. I do think that I would probably prefer the pole to be cloned out of the photo. It's not distracting though, just my preference.

Tres bien faites! Lisa

Hello Robert!
Beautiful picture of your wife, perfect focus, great colours!
Great quality of the picture, like always!
Best regards!
Lili

Very cliched thing to say, but "lovely colours"! That's what struck me when I opened up this shot, it has a very "real" feel. Martine looks classy and relaxed and the image is well composed. The focal length of 23mm may have produced slight distortion but I think it all works in this shot. I like the inclusion of the glass on her armrest - that somehow balances the shot and adds context.

Lovely scene, well taken and I love the title :-)

Bonjour Robert

No prob with black and white hues here, Robert. A very pleasing portrait with a nice compo. I'd consider using the pole on the left as a natural frame there, the thin line of foliage doesn't really add to the shot imo. The armrests really draw the eye towards Martine, and her lovely smile is the finishing touch. Standing a bit further away and thus zooming in some more might have created a slightly blurrier backdrop... but it would probably "flatten" the depth created by the armrests as well... difficult to say.
