[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi Folks , this is my image for today , it is the Highwood river that comes through the small town of High River. I am often found at this park with my camera looking for birds or other nature shots , once and a while a landscape occurs to me. it was at the nice time of evening when the sun is getting low and the light takes on a warm yellow.

I took a couple of shots of this scene , one with the camera metering , and this one , where I manually metered for the sky. the original is a bit dark , but of the two images this one held a nicer color quality.

for pp I used nikons capture nx , mostly straight raw to jpeg settings , but with some added lighting , the nikon 'D Lighting" works good for such an image , it is similar to 'highlights and shadows' in photoshop letting me increase the light for the shadows , while maintaining the blue of the sky. I also brought up the exposure compensation a bit as well. this image had nice color to start with , so that is why I used capture nx for the conversion , it maintains the cameras settings and best reflects the image captured.

this photo may come across a bit dark , but that is by choice , at this time of the evening , the shadows where long , and I was standing in shadows , I like to try to get my pictures to look as much as when I took it as I can , it was not a bright time of day , so it is not that bright of a picture.

This photo is gorgeous Art! Nice shore lead in line, wonderful sharpness and the thumbnail is a real eye-catcher! Nice saturation here! The rocks in this pic are really nice!

Nice colors and nice sharpness !
The horizon is may be too much centered, but the details in the stones and in the trees are great.

Hello Art,
I am really enjoying looking at the fall colour from the various images from Canada and this is one of them.
I really like the colours and saturation.
The POV accommodates for a nice shore lead in.

Oh, now this is breathtaking. I absolutely LOVE the balance and symmetry of this shot. The way everything is designed to lead the eye in. Nice gentle image, I like the warm colours and the long reflection adds depth with interest. Improvements, not sure, maybe a polariser filter would have given you more detail in the foreground under the water whilst boosting colours in the sky and leaves.
