| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I took this photo because I liked the contrast between between cool and warm colours.
As I scanned this from a print, I had to sharpen it afterwards and tried various settings. I finally decided on 200% sharpening and a radius of 1,0, as I liked the effect of details being emphasised. With the radius I have so far used (0,3), the texture looked too fine, with this subject I prefer the slightly "rougher" look. This way it looks almost like a hand-coloured photograph of many years ago (colours are completely unchanged). What do you think? |

As an icon the picture shows better to me; in a way you made it to rough (too much sharpening?). Hand-painted means not-natural; is that what yo wanted?
Have a good day.

I like "old" things in pictures. Good symmetry and colour. But again I can say, put a frame on it. It brings the picture forward and more expression, I think. And on TL I noticed, people are always looking too to the frame.
Hello Frank,
I think your post processing does a lot of good to this capture, the grainy texture strengthen the impression of old and corroded! Besides, direct sunlight always brings out the best in the colour of rust... Very good!
