O'neils beach.

I have just got around to downloading the raw plugin for photoshop, so have been shooting some pics in raw. I was going to post some notes on the RAW vs JPEG debate but there are plenty of web sites on the subject.
Is anyone out there in TL land using Adobe 'Lightroom ' ? Interested to know if its useful.

wow, what a great shot, im impressed. Great colors, sharp and great reflections.

Unusual to have a human subject in your shots Tim, I like this. You have really got these shots to a fine art - the balance of light and saturation and composition are all perfect IMO.

Hi Tim,
What I like in your work is the vastness and luminosity
almost always present in your seascapes, but which is simply fantastic here! With the reflectons it is multiply by two! Superb!
I already tested Adobe 'Lightroom'. This is probably the best to stock and classify a lot of big and heavy files (important with Raw files). But, for the treatment of the image, I prefer Photoshop CS3. Like you can install it with a plugin at Lightroom, you have the best of the two worlds. :)
Regards! Annie

Hi Tim.
I like the inclusion of the person for scale.
The wavy reflections and then the slight mist really capture the feeling here. Well seen and presented. TFS. Karin

Adobe lightroom, its easy to create tonal :D hehehe just few steps, and you will have a totally different tonal :D

Anyway.... you have a very good landscape here TIm. Dramatic with the clouds and its reflection on the sands. I like the touch of that person here :D

What a breathtaking scene you have presented here Tim, really like the atmosphere. You're so lucky to have such kind of good weather there in NZ. Beautiful shot. What kind of filters you used here?

The water on the sand is like a mirror! Incredible shot Tim! SO beautiful! It's the spring time for you guys! Plenty of warm fun in the sun! I love the wide angle look here, very extreme! Beautiful!

I saw this before but was unable to critique at the time, this is an awesome scene!! Very nice pov and beautiful colors. Nice sharp detail. TFS

Hi Tim,

Lovely scene, great reflections, super sky which leads me on to Raw v jpeg, raw is just so much better, you have vastly more information to work with and can bring out so much more detail, smoother more detailed sky's and retain more detail in your highlights.

I also have Lightroom 2, but still prefer cs3, dropping hints to santa for upgrade to cs4, It seems to have an amazing Raw converter.
