Hook lighthouse - Wexford

This image was possible by merging two images in order to capture the rays of light from the lighthouse. The sky and beams were captured with a higher shutter speed to freeze the beams. I increased the ISO to 1000 and then dodged the rays of light further in PS. The lighthouse and water was captured at ISO 50 and a slow shutter speed for the motion of the water.

Hook Lighthouse is a unique example of an almost intact medieval lighthouse. It dates from the early 13th century and was a major feat at the time of its construction.

Your merge and Photoshop work has given a very realistic image here, the beams and reflection on the sea are really good. I'm heading up to the blackmount tomorrow in the Southern Highlands, so hope to get some decent shots after all this snow.
