[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This beautiful little girl is Melli. Her dad had a T-shirt kiosk in the market, and she was spending the day there with him. We asked him if we could take pictures of his daughter, and he said yes of course.

Guatemalan people are quite small as a rule, especially when compared to North Americans. In my family in particular, we are taller than the average person ... (I am tall, blonde and I wear glasses) so I would say we stuck out like sore thumbs in that country:)

Melli's dad was very small - maybe 5 feet and a few inches tall (160cm). So we had a funny little exchange with him about our vastly different sizes. This was on our first day there, and he was maybe the first of many many extraordinary welcoming encounters we had with the lovely people of Guatemala.

This was cropped a little, contrast and saturation added, and sharpened.

omg...she's adorable! even though there is a lot of color going on here....it does not take away from her beauty at all! excellent portrait. nicely done. (possibly...I would have liked seeing her other ponytail in the pic) but i still really like this!

Nice shot and excellent definition of image!
I love the expression of her eyes, these beautiful
eyes open as if they were two jaboticaba
and so I can see, you did a good trip to Guatemala.
I am happy with that.
