[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
well.. i really wanted to post something especially for Diana's (cloverstar) birthday.. (better late than never right?) so i went through several possibilities including a 'home thoughts from abroad' post with some nice british tea and biscuits! ihih but unfortunately although i did find a wonderful Cadbury's dairy milk bar to add to 'afternoon tea' the ginger snaps i so desired to use (and craved..) were nowhere to be found at the supermarket :-((

then yesterday i posted a shot i took here at the university of this beautiful fountain sculpture of the goddess Diana which i thought very appropriate... especially as she appeared almost to be dancing on top of her fountain and i know how much our Diana loves dance... but then i got cold feet about posting something different than what i usually do and thought no one would really like it and in one of my frequent attacks of the killer doubt demons i deleted it shortly after... i know.. i'm a silly girl... but confidence comes very hard for me and self doubt all too easy... anyway.. i still think you're a goddess Diana! and you can see your namesake dancing on her fountain here on PBase if you wish to :-))

so here is what we decided on (my inner demons and i ihih) every girl likes to get roses on her birthday so i though i'd create a special and unique one for a special and unique lady..

i added the original rose macro this comes from as a ws and it is the same that i used for my mothers day rose here

the steps i took to create this version were:
* changed the colour of the rose to a yummy rich purple
* used the 'dark strokes' brushstrokes filter in photoshop (a favourite filter of mine) to create an intense yet still soft painted look
* adjusted levels to brighten the highlights
* framed in a sort of greetings card style
* and finally added the vertical text and my crescent moon monogram

so.. a very happy belated birthday Diana! you are such a great part of what makes TL what it is :-))

Ayda I don't know why this rose make me a little sad,maybe for the colour...I like its mood,it seems to keep up a secret in her core,a very strong feeling of her own soul,maybe a pain,but surely something by which it is worth to live for.
This rose has really a great passional mood.

Ayda, this is fantastic! You made me a birthday card, with a special purple rose which is one of my favourite flowers. Thank you so much. In fact I had to cards, the other one of the Goddess dancing. I am so honoured. I am going to print both of them and put them on my fireplace mantle. The dark brush strokes filter works well on the flower. Thank you again. You are so sweet, and I really appreciated it. Sorry I didn't see it yestereday. Big Hug.

What a lovely tribute. I'm sure she enjoyed it. The dancing Diana image was also very nice, particularly the sky with the clouds. everything looked so amazingly sharp.

I very much like your crescent moon thing too. I have to mention it as you know I really like the name Chiaraluna, and the new monogram against blackness is perfect for it.

Before reading your note, I would have never have guessed that the flower was 'painted'. If I remember rightly, I gave you a bit of a hard time about your mothersday image, but perhaps not.

Anyway, thanks for posting this, you have brightened my day. By the way, interesting note too
