Tule Elk
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
At the Point Reyes National Seashore last week I was lucky enough to see a herd of tule elk relaxing on the open plateau along a winding road to McClures Beach. I was impressed with the antlers on the stags, and enjoyed how they stood out against the sky in this scene. I cropped the shot to better represent the effect I had in mind. Not my forte, especially with my long lens that I'm not well practiced with, but I enjoyed this one. (I'll post a closer view of one of the stags later this week.)
PP: standard RAW adjustments, cropped for tighter composition, tinkered with colors in lab mode, added border, resized, sharpened, jpegged. |

This is a very cool shot Karen.
It reminds me of something from a Pink Floyd album :)
I love that the foreground is so exaggerated.
An the horns silhouette against the blue sky.
really neat image. Well done.

Really nice, I like the peaceful mood, and the opposite directions the two males are facing to keep a look out for the rest of the herd. Another good one.
