[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my first attempt at attempting to recover from a major flop. I liked this photo, but it was overexposed, so I experimented with it to try and salvage it.

This is the original size with no cropping or resizing except to resize for posting. I used MSDI colorizing tool to bring color back to the wings and thistle. Wing spots were highlighted using paintbrush. Contrast and mid tones slightly increased. Sharpened somewhat with unsharp mask. Added frame and signature. I leave it to you to tell me what I did or did not do right! Thanks for looking and all comments or advice very much appreciated.

Wow, John! You go a while without posting and then you wow us with this great comeback! This is my kind of photo...great Macro and DOF. I think you did a good job of recovering from a "flop" as you call it. Sometimes those flops turn out to be the best ones when you work with them. Glad to give you two big points for venturing into the world of Post processing. congratulations!....:O)

Hi John

Superb color, sharpness & dof. I like the juxtapositioning between the yellow & lavender. Good work!

You did it perfect, highlights, midtones contrast, bam! Bravo!

I just had to see how that paint action would do on a butterfly, I borrowed yours and workshopped it. Let me know what you think??
Thanks,
Randy
