I was struck by the look of this tree yesterday while out for a walk in the snow. I have resized only, nothing else.

Hi Anne,
Interesting formulation of subject. Tree and dark clouds create tune. I congratulate.

A really striking shot Anne.
I like the diagonal line of the fence.
The trees' silhouette is very clear against that cold looking sky.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Nice view, and the tree makes a great silhouette.. Maybe a slight sharpening would be good?

I love these snow scenes, as you know Anne we don't get them here. The silhouette works well against the white background.

Hi Anne,
Awesome silhouetted tree you've captured here, wouldn't look the same without the gloomy sky in the background. Simple and effective - I like it :).

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Anne

This is a super shot taken in difficult light, but feel that with a bit of a 'tweak' it would have better visual impact. I find my eye initially goes to the right side of the image where there is a gap between the last fence post and the edge of the image. As the tree branch hangs above the fence post I would suggest cropping the image almost back to the post. The overall image is a bit dull so some work on shadows/highlights, levels and contrast would really enhance this. Then add a wee bit of sharpening and the end result would give this beautiful scene a bit more punch. I have uploaded a workshop to show what I mean.

With all the above said, this is a lovely winter scene and I like the way you have composed the left side allowing the hill to fall off to the flatter area below. The eye follows the journey nicely.

Cheers

Pam
