Roman Forum, Athens

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The Gate of Athena Archegetis is locatged at the entrance to the Roman forum in Athens, near the Roman Agora and the Acropolis.
We visited the Roman forum the day before the first snowstorm in decades in Athens, and the sky was already starting to cloud over. Given the moody sky and a plethora of ruins to shoot, I opted to do most of my photography during our stay in Athens in infrared. I shot several wider images of the gate, but most of them included one or more of thew stray dogs that dotted the Forum. I liked this tight detail the best, with the moody clouds and the birds perched along the ledges.
Shot with my infrared-only Canon Digital Rebel XT, converted to grayscale and adjusted for contrast. |

I can almost see every little detail on each stone! pretty good light and lovely frame! B/W looks great here! I like the bird on the right side, adds a character to this stunning composition..
