[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
All the photos of Japanese food, that I have just seen on TL, reminded me about this photo that I took in a Japanese beef bowl restaurant.

I am not a great fan of Japanese food, but I do think they present the food in a very appetizing way.

As I was about to tuck into my tasty lunch, I remembered the scene from the movie "Wall Street", where Charlie Sheen and Daryll Hannah made a gourmet meal and then decided that it looked so good they didn't want to eat it.

As I wasn't going to pay 36 dollars just to look at a well presented bowl of beef, so I photographed it instead and then scoffed down the lot.

The full size version does make a nice wallpaper on my PC.

Hi Andrew, great to see you here, I missed you a lot.
This looks great, Andrew, so colorful. Excellent note. Well done.

Nice diagonal presentation, steamy blur, warm colors, and the light shining on the sauces. Good details too. I like the inclusion of the tray and paper underneath too - natural orange framing!

A well-presented shot of well-presented food, Andrew. It looks mouth watering and appears to be steaming into my face if I get too close to the monitor. Is "nice colors and textures" an appropriate wording for this kind of subject? Anyway, it looks great.

Love the last sentence in your note - "I photographed it instead and then scoffed down the lot" - ;-))

It is tricky photographing food, Andrew, because it has to look yummy! This does, thankfully, and it makes me want lunch. Nice point of view and I love the soft focus, as if this food were in a dream...

I think this is more like Chinese food, at least for my food experience! But itīs tasty, good framing!

well done

Oh - how could you do it ;-)) It's dinner time here now - and I'm quite sure what the menu shall be this evening. Thanks for sharing the sight Andrew - very delicious loking.

36 Dollars for a well presented bowl of beef.Sometimes I wonder why something looks so good, people hesitates to eat it. And then eat it anyway because it is just too expensive not to. What would happen if it is cheap and looks good?

Tell you what...play around this bowl in Photoshop and see whether it could be anymore difficult to eat.

wow... what a appetizing dish!! i am sorry for the chopsticks are not good enough. it seems it is once using chopsticks. 36$us dollars? my god! it is over half month of wage for workers in my factory...maybe it deserves it but in HK ?

Looks tasty! Great colors!

I have to assume you're talking Hong Kong dollars. You can't get much cheaper Japanese food than at Yoshinoya.

I love Yoshinoya. great photo..
