Totally agree with Karl.
Months ago you posted this same picture EXACTLY the same one and I made the same comment about your "hard times" image..After that you took it out from your gallery, AND NOW AGAIN? Donīt be ridiculous and open your eyes. Iīm pretty sure I can find better stuff (or worse situations) if I go to any country in the Americas. Shoecleaners are EVERYWHERE in the world, and your title is simply ovbious and not needed at the same time. Instead of feeling happy on how big your wallet can be try to improve your quality images everyday.

Are you an idiot?
There are shoe-cleaners in just about every country you can think of, in good times and in bad. I can think of far greater signs of a "failed economy" in the country you claim to come from.

I won't make any comments on your picture.
But I disagree with your last part of the comment. Shoe cleaners are part of the urban landscape in all america, this guy surely earns a pension, because he's a senior, it's not a homeless but a small entrepreneur. Can you say the same in other places ?
Please leave your predjuices at home whan travelling.
I saw from your pictures you just made the touristic track, so please don't be prejudcious.
