OK, the photo is nice, but next time try to tell us (with photo, not with note!) why is this model so interesting to you. You can achieve that by simple trick: imagine you photo is divided in thirds. So you have two imaginal vertical lines and two horizontal. You also have 4 points where those lines cross, right? Well, if you place most important detail at some of those crossings, the viewer will consider that detail more important than other details. It's so called "The rule of thirds" (pravilo tretine), which you will find in almost every book about photography.
When you shoot such a small objects on table in your room (I'm right? ;)), you should consider use more lights, or use white sheet of paper as a reflector. On a photo that my son made, you can see how he used a desk lamp from his table and central light in his room. That way, those "fat" shadows are avioded. I also filled up one small bag with corn beans ("koruza" in slovenian) which he often uses as a desk tripod! Cool trick, ha? :) You should consider make yourself one, it would be useful for shooting you mineral collection!
