[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My wife Kerree and I drove to Mt Macedon yesterday, which is about 20 minutes from our home in Woodend.

Although Woodend was clear, the fog had decended on Mt Macedon and it was also much colder than it was at home.

I was able to persuade Kerree to brave the cold on one of the picnic benches in the area, to allow me to use the fog as a backdrop in this photo.

I like foggy landscapes like this. It's a good shot, everything is on focus, your wife, the foreground branch: but the protagonist of this picture is the fog.
Well done
Paolo

Very nice picture Peter, very well taken. I like the smoggy ambiance, it gives more texture to the picture.
Best regards
Guy

Nice mood photo - composition and all aspects fit in together nicely. TFS - Sam

Hi Peter,
Nice portrait of your wife. It does seem to have quite a heavy mood, though. To me, it looks a little lonely. Afterall, she's waiting in an empty picnic area surrounded by cool fog. But yet, there's also a bit of romanticism going on, I think. The composition looks good. If it weren't for the fog, you'd have a problem with that tree growing out of the back of her head, but, there's fog so it softens the tree and it's okay. I do like how you also got a bit of a tree on the upper right; more layers of depth. Your exposure looks good, too. Nice job!

Very peaceful and I love the saturation. B

The fog creates a nice moody look for this photo. It looks like part of a creepy mystery movie. Waiting for someone (or someTHING) to come out of the fog.....(nned some creepy music for background sounds).
Very nice composition and the saturation is excellent agains the dark foggy background.

A nice piece of colour against the foggy bush. I guess that there is more than just colour really...
You get drawn into these photographs when you understand what it feels like to be there, in fog like that. I love the Victorian bush in winter. There is still a freshness that you can smell. And the fog has a smell as well. I can smell it now.

haha! poor Kerree!! ;)
Great timing, taking this pic with that gorgeous veil of fog around. She looks a little bit unnatural or uncomfortable though (can't blame her though!) ... i think a more pensive pose might have worked better in this pic. Besides that, you really captured the dreary colours well, and it was a nice touch to frame it with that branch in the foreground. I like the gradual blur too... although I'm not sure if that was you or the fog (or maybe both!)

Great picture! Nice mood captured with that fog! Beautiful "cold" colors! It is nice to meet your wife! Michel

Hello Peter, I love this picture, the fog, the crispness, the mysical lighting with its soft colour. What I really enjoy here, is the branch leaning in from the right and the bench behind your wife, it adds some nice drama to the image.

Well done, keep it up.
