This is a film shot of the festivities at the old Baylor University site, where we go see the bluebonnets every year. They have old log homesteads and people dress in the appropriate garb for that era. They play music and sit around and talk.

The goal here was the get the PEOPLE in focus and exposed correctly, and to let the BG be visible, but not overpowering. I find the LARGE man in the FG a LARGE lead in line, and an interesting addition to the shot. I planned it that way, not sure what you think about it though! So is he a distraction...or part of the framing for the lady?

You know some people like to dance, some people like to play, and some sit on the sidelines and miss out on life. But all players make sure you have your armour on, we would not want you to get hurt! Watch out for that nasty virus today!

I have my annual heart check up today, so we shall see how well I am doing after all the blood work and tests. I feel great! Hope the doctor thinks I AM great!
B-)
Linda

Ciao Linda, one between you and me today, beautiful composition with wonderful players, great light and colors, lovely atmoosphere, very well done, ciao Silvio

hi Linda
like the detail you have in this shot wish we could have sound as well nice pov and sharpness tfs
regards bryan

Nice play with the FG and Bg Linda , a very good shot , the vignetting adds tremendously to the mood as well . Obviously the woman playing is your main subject,,, great as she is placed nicely in your frame and moreover she's the one who needs and captures all the attention . You isolated her from both planes ,my only concern is the large man as he takes up quite some space , perhaps a little too much , he he,, otherwise i think it is pure delight , my compliments Linda,
Carol
You're great Linda don't you worry , Doc thinks so too !

Hi Linda

A superb daily life scene, with good use of a shallow dof. I like the diffusedlight & shadow detail. Is this a double bass, or a cello? I was always explaining the difference between violins & guitars, in Korean school classes. Tfs!

Hi Linda

Nice composition you have made here, the man certainly adds to the composition and I like the way he is out of focus, it leads you into the picture.

Hello Linda,

I'm ready today!
I like the detail of the old costumes.
The lady with her double B, makes a really good combined image.
The guy in the f/g, to me, is an integral part of the shot. However, what do you think about cropping him a little and making act like a frame. The colour of his clothes, link very well with those of the lady; they make a fine connection.

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

He is not a distraction Linda:):):) - actually he makes excellent I would say... not a framing as you mentioned but 3D effect because of very good use of DOF.
Picture is lovely one - just like frozen frame from a movie!!! - great job:)
Tom:)

Boa tarde Linda
You make me feel I was in a movie. Happy and excelent frame.

I hope doctor see you great .
Um abraço
Teresa

Hi Linda,
Excellent and picturesque, the lady in the old-style blue dress and hat, their postures, the smile on her face, the sun-lighted flowers of the left. The slightly blurred corpulent man on the FG looks OK, offering a good contrast and frame to the lady. Nice compo.
TFS,
Andreea

Beautiful, natural colours and light.
I congratulate and I greet You warmly.

I love the wonderful mood of this image, Linda. Did you add a vignette effect? I like the large guy - he adds to the feel. The interplay of the sunlight in the background and the shade in the foreground creates a very interesting impact. The expression of the bass player is wonderful. Great candid portrait of a unique scene.

HI Linda
He looks like he might be playing the mouth organ ( don't see a fiddle)or is he licking the cigarette paper, so he fits in well in the composition, and I like how you used him to give complete attention to the lady.
Dot

It's photo with unique atmosphere, Linda! I like DOF and colours on this. Very, very nice composition.

Sensacional.Charmosa foto.

Hi Linda,
Wonderful image, full of glamour and mood just like «in the movies».
I was crazy to put my «dirty hands» on it and see how did it worked in b/w; ....please don't kill me....if you don't like you just have to tell me and I will take it out in a minute.
I hope the doctor thinks you're great!
