The Burj Dubai in its nearly finished state. This tower will be the world tallest building breaking records in almost all imaginable criteria. Upon completion it will have 160 floors, reaching more than 812 meters high in the sky. Interestingly this is supposed to be mainly a residential building and hotel with shops, restaurants and so on rather than a business building.
View as seen from Dubai Mall. This picture is a panorama stitched in PS CS3 out of two shots, both with the exact same manual settings (as seen in the EXIF). I tried to adjust carefully the temperature getting it just warm enough to give the mood of earthy dust of the construction work but also keeping the colder blue of the sky and glass at the top floors. The contrast is also no high on purpose, in order to keep the atmospheric blending. Reduced to 800px height in photoshop using bicubic sharper interpolation, but to avoid aliasing on the sharp lines of the window's edges I did another layer reduced using the smoother bicubic interpolation and made that layer only opaque in the places where the aliasing occurred. |
