[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
If I would have taken this picture many years ago I would have ended up in jail. Ok I can hear you asking why. Just because it is tilted! This way I would have been offending Chairman Mao!

I was just looking through my pictures and wondering which one I could upload today and my girlfriend told me that many years ago this happened.
So far my history lesson.

The picture of Mao, that is probably the most printed picture in the world, is hanging in front of the forbidden city. He is looking right on Tiananmen Square where he is still visible.

Now here is something funny I heard but I'm not sure it is true. There is always a long line of people wanting to see Mao's body (in the center of Tianmen Square) but you can only visit him until lunch time. The reason some people say is because after half a day he deflates and so he would not look good anymore. Not sure if it is true but it would be funny though.
Hope you enjoy the picture.

Cheers
David

Hello David.
Well, falling only 45 degrees is not the bad, right ?
But I know, he is flat on its back now.
China is better off without him.
Very well presented. Good work
Groeten van Jan

hi David

Going to jail for tilting a photo? LOL you should turn it upside down and jail for longer term!

Interesting preposition and what a way of rules. But I suppose ideology is always very sensitive.

Nice view of the portrait and a historical place from Beijing.

tfs, bill

Mmm... weird sense of humour you have, David ;o)
Technically, I'd crop a bit more from the right to avoid the yellow/red patch on his sleeve... and to clip Mao's portraits frame the same manner as the corners touching the frame in the top left corner.
I agree the tilt works quite well in this shot.
TFS!

Grappige foto !
Is ie van z'n sokkel gevallen ? ...
Indien je van hun " gastvrijheid " zou moeten genieten
moeten we dan voor eten zorgen ? :-)
