[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken at creekside park in deira. Me and friends spotted a pakistani family enjoying the night. Here's an image of a father and son.

I really like this photo as it reminds me of the song "father and son" If you dont know the song its about between a father not understanding a son's desire to break away and shape a new life, and the son who cannot really explain himself but knows that it is time for him to seek his own destiny. Well in the image the young boy clings to his father but as time goes by there will come a time that he will find his own destiny and figure out his own life..

Hope you like it!

Hi Mae,
Excellent photo, as soon as I read your note I couldn't get that song out of my head, lol. Great focus and the B&W conversion suits the shot very well. The look on the little boys face is priceless. Well captured.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Mae

Not a bad shot, but it could be better!

The subject matter is good - and the theme of Father and Son, and yes, I know the song.

Couple of issues though.

Most obvious is the background competing with the father's forehead. There is a succession of lights, and a 'shape' to the left of them (I have no idea what it is) that together contribute to the bright reflection on his brow, and constitute a big distraction in my opinion. Easily fixed - you should've circled a little to the left, so that the scaffolding was the background.

Second is his moving hand, possibly you should have taken a few photos of this scene and chosen one where there were no moving elements.

Third is your own shadow on the right of the frame. Although this is a minor detail, it calls attention to the large amount of unneccessary negative space to the right of the pair. You could have cropped, or recomposed with the camera, to avoid this.

I hope you don't mind my detailed critique, I think this shot has some nice potential but could definitely be better.
