Waiting for the Sun

A few weeks ago, I watched this same butterfly, then a caterpillar, make his cocoon. What a transformation from a striped worm to a butterfly with wings like stained glass windows. Three butterflies emerged from their cocoons that day and two of them flew off after a short time drying their wings. This butterfly sat long time on the red flower drying his wings. I never saw him fly off which makes me wonder if he ever did.

honestly I was not sure how to crop this... what do you guys think?

Very nice work Shelby, you are as good as yo mama! This is so nice, very smooth BG! Your colors are bright, because you have a nice NEW LAPTOP!.... and your poor mother works on a caveman computer! I would have added a bit more space on the left side.... but it's a matter of preference! I like the bokeh you got going here!

A brand new butterfly and co-operating so well to have a portrait done.... I'm glad that you witnessed the life cycle of this butterfly,something I only know about but have never seen. the photo is technically well done with great sharpness focus and colour.... thanks Roman:0)
