Another scan of an old transparency... Fuji Velvia film and photo taken with a Minolta X300 camera.

Lots of blemishes and dust to clone out, adjusted the contrast and levels etc.

This was taken 3 weeks before the Tsunami at the end of 2004 that killed thousands - this beach was one that was inundated by the sea!!

This shows well though the limitations of film compared to this shot taken with a digital camera.

Hi David,
Great job with the scan! Wonderful crisp and clear picture. Excellent how you managed the harsh light and prevented the OE on the bright beach sand and white clouds. Perfect colours and contrast! An attractive posting. Looking at it I feel the need for a swim :-)

Hi David.
Yeh.. Bentota beach. Was there in 2000, 3 months after my Heart aorta valve was installed...
Lovely place, very kind (poor) peole too
Very good scan from a slide, I still have to do a few thousands too, sniff.
Good work on it David.

Hello,

Hi David!

Very interesting shot! Nice colours!

Wonderful Film shot and I'm so glad you weren't there when it happened! I know film is a bit different, but there is something about it. Kinda like choosing an old Harley, instead of a newer one. Heads turn even more, and it's just as much fun!

Hi David,

This boat has seen it's share of time in the ocean. The weathered look is wonderful and rustic against the sands of the beach. Nice greenery in the background. :)Lisa

Hi David
The old boat looks great against that scenery.
Everything is tack sharp.
You definitely do better than I with the scanner mind you my pics are over 25 years ago.
This definitely calls for a well done.

Beaut' shot David, another very nicely scanned image. Wonderful placement of the boat and tall palm trees in the BG. Has a very summery feel with the bright colours.

TFS,
Scott.
