Thhe colors, mist and leafless branches with an artistic shape of this tree make this shot very interesting.The frame seem to be a little wider for this post.I may be incorrect but it is how it looks to me.TFS

hello Alain,

I love this spooky, misty atmosphere, created by the fog, which seem more intense at ground level and slightly brighter towards the top of the tree.
I have no problem with breaking rules, I do it frequently, but here, I feel an off-centre composition would work better. The central tree blocks any further progress whilst an off-centre tree would draw in the gaze, and invite it to explore beyond: move into the scary mist!
A less severe border also emphasises the mood.
I have done a w/s to explain my reasoning. I hope you approve.

My thoughts are very much a personal opinion so, you still deserve the 2 points.

Sauf le vert, ceci ressemble en tous points à ce que j'ai vu toute la journée, ici!
Malgré ce que tu en dis, je trouve cette photo particulièrement réussie! On sent l'épaisseur de la brume, et aussi, une lumière qui veut percer au dessus de l'arbre donnant à la scène un certain mysticisme. Au-delà de les qualités techniques et des prouesses d'une caméra, l'ambiance est certes la principale qualité d'une photo. Celle-ci en est la preuve! Bravo! Annie

Of course it comes down to personal taste and rules can always be made flexible or broken.

For this shot, I am not sure if the camera is level or the ground is hilly and tilted. This is a nice scene of fog and the sharpness does not come into play anymore, I agree. Perhaps I would try to frame vertical on the full tree in close range and make it stand out and yet still try to retain a fog scene? Just my opinion.

Indeed, not much sharpness and dead in the center, but still a great posting. The lonely mood works very well in your presentation. You could consider a b/w posting, but that wouldn't change much I suppose.

Brave composition here. I really like the "rebellion" of your central framing.

Wonderful mood. The green of the grass really (no pun inteded) grounds the photo.
