[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my first post here on Tl.
I have removed the colour from the BG. Flipped the image horizontally and slightly cropped.
The red of the poppy hasn't been enhanced in any way.
I hope you like my first post on Tl.
Thanks for looking.

I have posted the original image as a workshop.

Very nice shot indeed, and very good pp work, welcome to TL Alan, I like the colours that you choose, good DOF and details. Very well done, thanks for sharing, keep posting and lots of fun on learning. :)

Hi there Alan, welcome to TL! This is a very beautiful shot, I like the sharpness of the flower and the contrast of colors. DOF is very well chosen. WS is well done, but in my opinion you shouldn't flip the picture. They say that when western people put their object on the left side that there is a story that starts from there and goes into the future. Object on the right ends the journey. Or something like that :)
Anyway, this is a good job. Keep posting!
Regards
Robert

Hi Alan,
Welcome to Trek L.

Hi, welcome to TL. I like what you did with your picture. It really brings out the flower as a single beauty. Looking forward to more of your posts.

Sandra

Beautiful shot. I see why you chose to flip the image. It draws the eye into the shot. Excellent focus. Removing the colour from the backgound makes the red pop even more. I look forward to you next posts.

Hello Alan,
this is a beautiful picture! I love the way you pp it having seen the original! I also opened your TE account and I am amazed at the beauty of your photos!
Well, what can I say? Welcome to TL!
regards,
M.

I'm so attracted to photos that have red involved. I'm not a fan of flower photos, but I must admit that I like what you did with this.

Is that an insect on it's stem?

-agk.

Excellent shot Alan, love the vibrant colour and the wonderful detail, nicely positioned with great DOF, looks like ther might be an insect crawling up the stem?

Nice composition, well done!

Nice first shot Alan,

This is a very nice composition and your PP made a very nice image indeed. The shot is sharp and the colours are vibrant.
Very well done1 And Welcome to Tl

take care, Stef

Very nice picture, I like the contrast a lot. The PP is really very good. I'm happy to have found your pictures, I like them both a lot. I had a look on your TN portfolio and liked what I saw there... You're in my favourites!
Annelies

Awesome PP work Alan! How do you selectively desaturate? I am just learning Photoshop and am like a 1st grader at it!

Great focus on the poppy, the gray background really accentuates it.

Alli

Hi Alan

Welcome to TL.

Beautiful! I love this effect. You have captured this nicely and by desaturating the background have enhanced the beauty of the poppy. Nice one. Thanks.

Hi Alan, amazing beauty in its simplicity !

Marleen

Hi Alan, good to see you here too. Your poppy looks good here, especially with the de-saturated BG... Good composition, super red too. Well done.
Have a great Easter holiday,
Janice
