The Ceiling
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This will be my first photo on Diners theme but pictures will be posted intermittently.
while dining inside a Chinese restaurant here in Quezon City, i found the ceiling very interesting as well as the overall lighting. i observed that most Chinese restaurants are brightly lit and their ambient to warm lighting always present a good opportunity to take pictures even without flash.
the tilt was intentional to capture some diners and to show the scale of the ceiling that i'm photographing vis a vis the diners on the photo. no cropping done but the tilt was exaggerated to create some diagonal lines.
minimal PP includes level adjustment, USM and smoothing. |

Hi Ronnie
I like the futuristic appearance of this image, which has great sharpness, is well lit, & has good color & definition. Well done!
Very cool Ron! You did a great job with composition and tilt. The cool lighting on the ceiling really looks great and you were smart enough to include the diners to show scale. Very nice! JP

This chinese restaurant has very clean lines and good decor with spacy ceiling. It sure has enough candle power to light an office. Good composition and exposure Ron.

Hi Ronnie,
Love this shot..
Beautiful ceiling creating beautiful lines, and circles that occupied a large part of the space, the eyes is always going there...the people at the bottom make the eye go back and forth..up and down. which is good..
Good exposure, and good colours..
Happy New Year 2009
Pretty cool I really like the original composition. I like it as it is and I wouldn't change anything in this picture, but I think that the ceiling itself would also be a very interesting subject for an abstract photo. Best wishes!
