[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a picture taken at the picturesque little fishing village of Pittenweem in the East Neuk of Fife. I had travelled through there yesterday and spied this old light which sits at the end of the wall at the harbour entrance.

Pittenweem, the only fully-functioning fishing in the East Neuk of Fife is a quaint place - you can read more about it on the excellent "Undiscovered Scotland" website here.

This place also shows up quite well on the Google [map].

Shot in RAW and converted and edited in PSE6.

Hi John,

Great pov and as every body seems to say the reflections in the puddle are brilliant. I really like the voluminous clouds the dof is excellent the colours great and the details very crisp.

Regards
Jon

Dear John,

What a pleasure to see you back with one of your very fine photographs.

As you have said many times before light is everything in photography, and here you have taken full advantage of a wonderful day.

The composition is excellent, the sweeping line of the edge of the quay takes the eye smoothly towards the little lighthouse, and the diagonals of the steps, the ladders and the quay wall reinforce this strongly.

The sunlight strikes the scene from the side and makes the roundness of the tower stand out. The shadows show good detail. Wonderful reflection in the puddle too.

What a good contrast for the blue sky the warm colour of the local stone makes.

Superb!

Kind regards,

Peter.

Hi John, not seen you for a while, but been worth waiting for.

This is a classic wonderful detail and the composition is perfect.

Have visited the East Neuk a number of times and it never disappoints.

Peter

Hi John,a good picture and keen composition,it leading to the centre bbut the tower is nicely out of it,the cloudy sky and the faraway background are giving it power.
