On the Peshtigo River at Goodman Park
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Goodman Park is aptly described as "one of the most beautiful spots on the Peshtigo River." I believe this is one of our state's official Wild and Scenic Rivers. In any case, within a half hour's time there during a Saturday waterfalling trek, I had so many beautiful shots of the park that I'm hard-pressed to pick one. (In fact, I found enough diversity of subjects to also post other views to Trek Earth and Trek Nature.)
The park site was developed by the local Civilian Conservation Corps over three years, at the height of the Great Depression, as a showcase of the recreational use of county forest. There are lodges, bridges, fireplaces, and many unique and beautiful vantage points from which to see the falls. |
