[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
he genus, originally spelled Plumiera, is named in honor of the seventeenth-century French botanist Charles Plumier, who traveled to the New World documenting many plant and animal species. The common name "Frangipani" comes from an Italian noble family, a sixteenth-century marquess of which invented a plumeria-scented perfume.

In Mexico, the Nahuatl (Aztec language) name for this plant is "cacalloxochitl" which means "crow flower." It was used for many medicinal purposes such as salves and ointments.

Depending on location, many other common names exist: "Gulcheen" in Pakistan and Central Asia, "Kembang Kamboja" in Indonesia, "Temple Tree" or "Champa" in India, "Calachuchi" in the Philippines, "Araliya" or "Pansal Mal" in Sri Lanka, "Champey" in Cambodia, "Champa" in Laos, "Hoa Su" in Vietnamese, "Lantom" or "Leelaawadee" in Thai. In Brazil it is called Dama da Noite ("Lady of the Night"). Many English speakers also simply use the generic name "plumeria".

Yes plumeria ... that's how I know it. I suppose these grow in your country as well?
Great detail and focus on the leading flower Roberto. The water droplets are a really nice addition. Beautiful dark BG to set the flowers off perfectly.

Hi Roberto,
Beautiful macro picture and lovely composition,
great colors and sharpness, well presented and details, lovely water droplets included in this lovely flower...
Très jolie photo!!
Michel

Hi Roberto,
That is a very beatiful flower and you captured it good. The shallow DOF gave the photo a nice creative look. The leaf on the right is bothering the clean composition and leaving it out would have been better.

Niek

Greet Roberto!

Very bautiful , interesting formulation.
Flowers look in drops of rain nicely, their colours and light.
It pleases me.

I congratulate realization and I greet.
