The trunk

Here a close up of the trunk of Radza the bull at the Emmen Zoo. What you see on top are the tusks of Radza.

From Wikipedia: "The proboscis, or trunk, is a fusion of the nose and upper lip, elongated and specialized to become the elephant's most important and versatile appendage. African elephants are equipped with two fingerlike projections at the tip of their trunk, while Asians have only one. According to biologists, the elephant's trunk may have over forty thousand individual muscles in it,[38] making it sensitive enough to pick up a single blade of grass, yet strong enough to rip the branches off a tree. Some sources indicate that the correct number of muscles in an elephant's trunk is closer to one hundred thousand."

PP work: small crop, slight adjustment of shadows and highlights, decreased saturation with 10%.

hans, you must be joking with us. *g* i love this very cool idea and excellent close-up - give him a peanut..
but without the slight noise, stronger contrast, maybe even a little bit brighter and a tighter crop without the wooden
board on top it would be even better. best wishes & take care, thor.

OMG!.... I'm sorry..I'm a girl! ewwwwwwwwwww...but it's a good photo...hahaha! That thing scares me very much! The quality is very good, the subject makes me scream!
HAHA!

Ik vind 'm bijna onsmakelijk, maar daarmee ook wel weer goed gezien en gemaakt. Ik heb wat twijfels over de bovenkant, maar die zit er nu eenmaal.Goed verhaal.
