VIVA !!

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I travel many back country roads in the course of my work and have noted numerous derelict vehicles and buildings. I noticed this in a paddock near Silverdale some time ago and went back there on Saturday.
This is a very sad HA Vauxhall Viva, has seen better days.
HA Viva (1963-1966)
The Viva HA, announced in September 1963 and replaced in September 1966, was Vauxhall's first serious step into the compact car market after World War 2. It was also the first new small car produced by Vauxhall since 1936. It had a 1057 cc overhead valve engine. The 4 cylinder front mounted engine drove the rear wheels. It was comparable in size and mechanical specifications to the new Opel Kadett released a year earlier in continental Europe. Both the Viva and Kadett were sold alongside each other in many markets.. |

I like the colours of this - it has a grungy, gritty kind of feeling to it. The foliage on the old carcass of the Viva is a good touch.
I know I have said this before, but a gradient through the upper part of the frame might really be a good idea - to reduce that bright sky and keep it from distracting?

Hi Ralph,
Interesting find and you did well even to recognise this one! no chance of restoring the old Viva.
The reds in the shot seem a little strong but maybe its just the rust covering everything.
cheers
