[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I've been a very bad girl again, shooting from moving vehicles. I went out with a group yesterday and met them at the park at 7AM. It was already a scorcher.

There were three other women from spin class and the 6 year old boy of one of the ladies. So I took a little ride with them and hung back with the camera to get this shot while I rode my bike. This is my favorite shot of the day. I just set the camera on 7.1 and took a chance.

I processed this in several different ways, even HDR. But always came back to this version, the first one.
Yesterday, 101F... today... also 101F I think I will stay in and take it easy today!

Hi Linda,

I like how the path is to the right of the frame and it curves out of the photo. I just want to follow the path. It is also great timing on your part to get the biker in the bit of sunlight instead of the shadows. Looks like a nice morning for a ride. Red helmet adds a splash of color to the little one. Very cute! Hope you get a copy to Vicki! :) Lisa

A nice capture of this young cyclist heading along, a nice lighted road, against the light!
A play with lighting and shadows.
You created a very nice effect, almost a vignette to frame the whole capture.
Very sharp image with fabulous details.

This is a really nice photo; well worth the risk you have taken ;)
For me, her shadow that reaches to the lower right corner is a fine detail contributing to the overall success.

Hi Linda

Nice sidelighting with good sharpness & lead in lines & perspective added by the pathway. The cyclist adds a welcome human element. The late afternoon color temperature has warmed the colors, with a nice bias towards red & yellow tones. Tfs!

Lovely light,shade and shadows,I like the way you have burnt the woodland right back, I start overheating about 75, 101 would kill me, my finger would keep sliding off my shutter release.

good use of the vignette. it has given more focus on the bike rider.
your image has a nice 'earthy' colouring to it. how did you acheive it?

Nice work - a good drive-by!! I very much like the isolating effect of the light and composition. As much as I would prefer to see the cyclist coming towards the camera rather than seeing her shot in the back, this is a good piece of work.

Hi Linda,on first reading your notes, I wondered what type of moving vehicle you were on ,as this is a pretty narrow path,then I read on & it made sense,your moving vehicle was a bike, not a car as I first thought.
I like the mood you captured here with the suns rays highlighting part of the grassed area as well as the pathway & the boy cyclist,he sure has long hair for a boy his age? I also like the S curve of the path leading us into the picture,nice use of the available light,vibrant composition.

This has a great mood that's hard to explain, but it's exactly why I race off to the local park to relax on a day off. I guess it's the 'relaxed' daily life that we don't experience often enough. The lighting is beautiful, nice shadows and colors. TFS

I like this image, It is America at it's finest. The park, young ones, and protective mothers (helmets). I love the time of day that this was taken. Just great work.
