Athabasca Glacier in the Canadian Rockies last Fall / Autumn. My bus from Jasper to Banff stopped here briefly. And yes, it was cold. The signs are in dual French & English.

"The Athabasca Glacier is one of the six principal 'toes' of the Columbia Icefield, located in the Canadian Rockies. Due to global warming, the glacier has receded more than 1.5 km in the past 125 years and lost over half of its volume. It currently recedes at a rate of 2-3 metres per year.[1] The glacier moves down from the icefield at a rate of several centimetres per day. Due to its close proximity to the Icefields Parkway, between the Alberta towns of Banff and Jasper, and rather easy accessibility, it is the most visited glacier in North America."

Hi Chris,
The feeling of cold comes through nicely in this photo.
Sunil

Yup, I can just feel the cold in the air. You've done a good jog, IMO, or capturing the cold ... but maybe because I'm all too familiar with how that feels.
nicely captured Chris.
Trudy

Hi Chris,

Wow, it looks like the wind is really howling up there. Your shot indicates a very hostile environment and I get chills thinking about it. Nice POV shooting along the valley.

Best regards,
Werner

Hello Chris,

We are in a tiny heatwave at the moment so this weather looks quite extreme, but, perhaps, even a little inviting!
The ghosting of the mountains really helps to conjure up the chill factor. Is it a snow storm arriving?
The 'u' shape of the valley draws the eyes inwards, whilst the rugged texture of the mountains frames the path.

Was it possible to take a step to the right and maybe get the full effect of the snaking road?

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hope those children are behaving well!

Hi Chris,
Welcome to cold-land Ha! Ha!.
I like the tones and forms. They all say that it is below zero outside. Nice shot!

hello Chris

was it the song for Fitzgerald and Armstrong:)
what a great snow freezing shot.. the fogs in the BG looks
Amazing, almost endless..
great details and POV and fine exposure.. you
definitely captured all the cold in the mountains in this
shot, need such photos nowadays in the desert heat..
it's simply superb..

best regards'

Ciao Chris, brrrr, fantasti winter composition with wonderful mountains full of snow, very well done, ciao Silvio

That certainly does look wickedly cold - an amazing vista, frighteningly inhospitable. I like the way this shot seems to deliver that almost-painful crispness to the air, and I can just imagine the muted sounds of altitude.
Nice work

Ciao Chris

This beautiful scenery and postcard
for me would be a landscape, refreshing in summer!
The strong point of view that is resulting
in fine dynamics in the composition!
I like to see the mountains in snow,
I think I also do not get a good shot
with both white.
Greetings,

Sergio

Your shot looks as though it is a long way up the mountains thanks to the snow.Ive been past the icefield but we didnt have time to actually travel on it. Apparently theres huge crevices thatyou could fall down and never be seen again. TFS Good composition
Warm regards
David
