[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Chateau Tongariro in the Tongariro National Park in New Zealand's North Island.
This beautiful old hotel was built in 1929 and sits below Mt Ruapehu which is an active volcano.

I haven't taken any photos for a week or two so I had a look in the 'fridge' to see what I could find.
I used a tripod for this shot as I couldn't stop shaking from the cold - the sun was not long up

Hi Jack,
Very effective composition. This looks like if we come back at the hotel after a long trek in the mountains with just the envy to jump in the jaccuzy! :)
Very clear and sharp image! The rocks in foreground are a good lead towards the far mountains beyond the hotel.
Bravo! Annie

Hi Jack,
Nice shot, good POV with the rocks in the FG. What a great looking BG too, can really sense the early morning freshness. Excellent clarity, the exposure seems nice and balanced too.

TFS,
Scott.

Well done for this unusual view of the Chateau and its environs Jack.
Nice depth of focus from foreground to the distant mountain top, I like this one.
Pete.

Makes you chilly just looking at the photo, it's a grand old building and you have composed it well, there was quite a stiff breeze blowing from the left.

Hello Jack,
very funny the idea to use a tripod because shaking for the cold...Interesting the three stages of depth, wall-building-mountain. Weather seems so good..
Ciao, Elena

I like this one - there's quite a lot going on, but it all seems to work...
