Monastic Hue

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
In April this year, I had the wonderful chance to visit Ireland. On this particular day, the weather was typically Irish (i.e. rainy as hell) and I ventured out in full rain jacket with my (non-waterproof) SLR camera. I came across this monastic site and took a photo of the misty and moody image.
In post-processing I decided to do two images (the other which I'll upload tomorrow). For this one, I removed all colour and gave it a dark and blueish tinge. I feel that this contributes to the mood and helps create a dark atmosphere. What do you think? Please tell me in the comments section whether you think I was successful! |

.... ah nay, it doesn't rains 'like hell' in Ireland, it's just a 'very soft day' ;-)
Lovely capture and treatment, Dirk, love the monochrome and the layers instead of the too often seen shot in greens :)
Thanks,
Rieke
hello Dirk
the view is interesting, even i like the mood of the shot, the low light has made this shot outstanding
but i feel this left portion of this shot is not adding anything to the frame even it is geting your subject (small hut with chimeny) in to the center, i feel you should have included more of the right(from the iron gate)rather than these blured trees at the left (personal choice).
thanks for sharing

Witaj, najbardziej brakowało mi tam ławek, trzeba było siadać na ścieżce by chwilkę odpocząć ... aczkolwiek chyba każdy kto był w Irlandii odwiedził to miejsce, niedzielne spacery...
