| Shot was taken in a local park. (Queen Elizabeth Gardens)I took it because it was such a deep and lovely orange. I had gone down to the park despite the fact that the city workers were on strike. I was pleased to see that that nature prevailed despite the weeds. Sadly it was on the news yesterday that someone had killed a piece of public grass with weed killer or something. Some local people had cut the grass earlier in the week which would normally have been cut by the city workers. I guess the culprits decided to take out their rage on the defenceless grass. It will take a long time for it to recover. |

Hi David,
Nice, colorful macro and you've managed the strong light well. Good DOF for the bokeh effect in the background. While it's understandable that the city workers are upset, that's no excuse for mis-directed retribution.
Have a nice weekend.
Best regards,
Werner

Very nice warm lighting and I like the yellow and green combination. Good dof. TFS
Hi David,
Very vivid and striking shot, certainly an eye-catcher. Good off-centered composition here, the focus looks great. The only thing I'd suggest is to remove the noise/grain from the BG - there's a free program that you can download called Helicon Filter which does an excellent job in removing it. Nice sharp details and balanced exposure however.
TFS,
Scott.
