[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Departing from Swartz Bay Ferry terminal, we took a round-trip cruise of the Southern Gulf Islands while visiting Victoria, BC. This is one of the best kept secrets in touristy Victoria: you can take a round trip for less than 10 bucks per person, sailing betwenn 4 or 5 islands - check ferry schedules here for a Day Trip from Swartz Bay.

Spending nearly 3 weeks there (glorious weather all the way through), we wound up shooting some 30GB of images, the bulk of which has not been processed yet. A few select images from my files are found on my Picasa Album Victoria 2009 - this will be a growing collection as images are being processed. Maximum 500 images on a Picasa Album, so there is quite some room left to fill .........
Check out Christan's view of Victoria - hopefully she will find the time to process and post more of her great pictures.

in my opinion this is just a holiday snapshot.
fine for a family album but not for tl.
Brian

Sounds like a great time! I could use a boat trip somewhere! Nice shot of you all!

ciao Otto..
really a pleasure for me to look at Rapp's family all togheter..
a nice familiar portait indeed.. your expression looks close to me..
and more important.. looks really happy!
taken in a classic style.. maybe in an holiday style also..
however feelings you trasmit here.. are nice and true..
ciao ciao Marco

hi otto, i see your making friends with that first comment! the guy sounds like a loser, why cant we post snap shots? is his work so good that snapshots are not part of his posting, sometimes a snapshot lets us all see who you are so why not every once in a while...man guys like that bug me
i will review his work and give him my honest opinion-i look forward to it.

anyways its nice to meet you and yours by the way not too mention that you are talking about one of the most beautiful places in the world with some links to get one there.

a fine post and dont let that guy get to you!
thanks,
scott

Hi Otto,
What a lovely family scene with fine clarity and composition.
TFS and cheers,
Bayram

Ahhhhh This is a nice shot! Cool! I like the "attitude" here... not posed like with cheese smiles, but more just being yourself! Nice shot Otto!
B-)
Linda

Hi Otto,
Family shot or not, it is a good (snap)shot(sorry bro). Perfect sharp, great colours, maybe a tighhter crop to get rid of the boring bottom side. The flying flags are a nice bonus, next time try to capture the Austrian flag on a boat :-)
Good to see you all in good shape. Fine posting Otto.
Hans

No more greenies for today, sorry :-(

Hi Otto - I'm caught between two stools here. On the downside I do just think that this is a family snap and I'm not sure of the relevance on Treklens where the objective is to learn about photography. Perhaps I'm thinking too much about how creative, how imaginative you can be - and this just doesn't sit too well with me with that in mind.

Having said that, hopefully this is a self portrait on a timer and as such it has been well set up and the expressions have been caught nicely. Also, I kinda like the composition with the blue in the foreground and the flags providing some framing to you and your family. Its also crisp and well exposed.

In my opinion this is a good holiday shot.
Fine for a family album and very good for TL
Lot of comments, lot of words.
Lot of discussion for nothing.
We can learn how to frame a good family shot and how to show a beautiful place.
Thanks.
Lucio
